In 2021 Operazione Colomba returned to Chile to restart the activities on the ground. Its volunteers, in collaboration with “Comunità Papa Giovanni XXIII” Association, keep on getting to know the Mapuche people in order to support forms of nonviolent resistance and struggle.
Lumber companies, intensive fish farming, mines, agricultural monocultures are some of the main pillars of power against which the Mapuche communities clash in their request for the restitution of their ancestral lands.
The volunteers monitor the respect for Human Rights of the indigenous Mapuche populations from Araucania and support the activities countering the extractivist policy implemented by the State and many large companies.
